Having Your HVAC Duct System Cleaned
As one of the mid-Atlantic regions largest Residential/Commercial Plumbing Heating HVAC Company we are constantly helping build some of the regions most interesting buildings and homes. While we specialize in constructing commercial and residential HVAC systems, our job does not stop once the project is complete. We are committed to ensuring the quality of your system and chances are at some point in time, your system will need some attention. The most frequent attention your system will need is air duct and vent cleaning. The following article is aimed at aiding you in this task.
Though it may come as some surprise to consumers, the air that we breathe indoor is dirtier and even more polluted than the visible pollution we experience outside here in the Washington DC area on a daily basis. The quality of your indoor air can lead to such health risks are acute respiratory allergies, asthma and even emphysema. The most popular location of these potential health affecting elements, such as fungi, bacteria, dust particles, and mold, is found in your heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Whether you are a resident of Silver Spring, MD, Chevy Chase MD, Potomac Maryland or the urban center of Washington D.C., pollen and pollution are no strangers to your life.
When performing a proper cleaning of ducts and vents, professionals utilize two different methods. The first system is attached to the duct in order to provide suction. High pressure air hose is fed throughout the system in order to remove all particles clinging to the interior walls. The second system uses specialty vacuums attached to a hose and industrial brushing system. The appropriate duct cleaning systems are run throughout the duct system eliminating any harmful particles.
In order to ensure a proper air duct cleaning, consumers are advised to have these projects overseen by properly trained personnel. Make sure that the trained professional gives attention to the inside of all registers and ducts as well as the interior of the heating and ventilation systems. The furnace fan is another high particle area which must be cleaned. If you have air conditioning or a heat pump make sure that the coils inside the system are clean. Finally a disinfectant should be passed through the system to ensure all molds, dust mites, and bacteria are alleviated from the system. If proper attention is given to your system the process could take anywhere from three to five hours.
The staff at Harvey W. Hottel, Inc. is committed to putting all of our energy into saving yours. To have your air duct or HVAC duct system cleaned, contact us today or take a moment to fill out our REQUEST AN ESTIMATE FORM.
